How It All Began

From Passion to Plate

Cooking was never just a career for our founder — it was a calling. Raised on the bold, vibrant flavors of Puerto Rico, she learned early that food is more than sustenance. It's love. It's identity. It's family gathered around a table sharing something made with care.

After years working as a professional chef, she faced an unexpected crossroads. Rather than fold, she did what every great chef does: she leaned into what she knew, what she loved, and what she was best at. She opened Empanissah's.

The menu started with her greatest love — empanadas. Hand-folded. Fried golden. Stuffed with the same recipes her family perfected over generations. And then came the mac & cheese — a recipe she'd been refining for 15 years, quietly building toward the day she'd share it with the world.

Today, Empanissah's isn't just a restaurant. It's a family. Walk in hungry, leave full — and not just from the food.
